About Matt

 

I have been practising yoga, meditation, and mindfulness for many years and qualified to teach yoga in 2012. I find the benefits of such practices to be substantial. With regular practice comes improved strength, flexibility, increased muscle tone,  improved wellbeing, and an increased ability to pay attention and focus my mind in the present moment, bringing calmness and equanimity. I teach yoga because of the positive impact it has had in my own life and I believe that everyone can benefit from some type of yoga and mindfulness practice. 

I originally trained as a dancer and went on to have a career as an actor and performer on both TV and stage. I have also taught at numerous performing arts colleges around the UK and incorporated yoga into my teaching to work on dancers' strength, balance and flexibility.

More recently I have attained a BSc (Honours) First Class in Psychology and I have successfully completed my 12-month Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy teacher training, with the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation.
